FAQs

Where can I go to stay up to date with your work?

There are several options! If you're on Facebook, you can join my reader group. Or if you'd prefer email updates, you can join my mailing list. On the other hand, if you'd prefer to be only notified about releases and new books, you can follow me on books2read or Bookbub.
You can find all of the links to follow me here:
==> https://www.authorlauragreenwood.co.uk/p/follow-laura-greenwood.html

Is there a complete book list?

Yes, and you can access it here, or you can find extra information on this handy spreadsheet.

Is there a recommended reading order?

Each of my series can be read on its own, but I have several universes which encompass more than one series, and there is a suggested order on my website:
==> https://www.authorlauragreenwood.co.uk/p/reading-order.html

I've found an error in one of your books, what do I do?

First, I'd like to apologise. Every effort is made to ensure each and every book is error-free. Unfortunately, errors are pesky creatures and sometimes slip through. If that's the case, please fill out this form and I'll get it fixed!

Your book was originally in a boxed set, but now I can’t find it.

Most anthologies/boxed sets are only available for a limited time and then go off sale. In most cases, the book is already back out in the world. There is a list of titles on the page below. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please ask and I’ll point you in the right direction!

Your book isn’t in Kindle Unlimited, will that change?

No, that isn’t likely to change. Being in Kindle Unlimited means that I would have to keep my books exclusive to Amazon, which not only excludes readers who use Apple Books, Kobo, Nook, Google Play, and other purchasing sites, but also those who can access my books via library sites such as Overdrive, or subscription sites like Hoopla and Everand. Not being able to have my books available in as many places as possible is a deal-breaker for me, which is why I choose not to do it. I regularly run sales and have some free book ones and prequels for readers to be able to try before they buy.

Do you have any completed series?

Yes, I have multiple completed series, both solo and co-writes (you can find out more information on the completed series page of my website

Do you have any free books?

I do! I know that it is a risk to try a new author, or even a new series from an author you've read before, so it's important to me that I have free books available for people to try.
You can my free first in series & prequels/side stories to currently open series here: ==> https://www.authorlauragreenwood.co.uk/p/free.html
Or you can visit the bonus content page to find prequels & side stories to complete series:
I also sometimes post new or limited time freebies in my Facebook Reader Group, or run limited-time events like my Christmas Advent Calendar in December.

How many books will there be in XXX Series?

  • Obscure Academy: there's no set number of books to this series, though each can be read as a standalone romance with a different couple.
  • The Apprentice Of Anubis: there's no set number of books to this series, though each plot arc will last 3-4 books.
  • Forgotten Gods: there's no set number of books to this series, though each can be read as a standalone romance with a different couple (with the exception of the complete Queen Of Gods mini-series).
  • Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency: there's no set number of books to this series, though each can be read as a standalone romance with a different couple.
  • Amethyst's Wand Shop Mysteries: there's no set number of books to this series, though each book will continue to contain a standalone mystery.
  • Grimm Academy: there's no set number of books to this series, though each can be read as a standalone romance with a different couple.
  • Purple Oasis: there's no set number of books to this series, though each can be read as a standalone romance with a different couple.
  • Speed Dating with the Denizens Of The Underworld: as this is a shared world, I have no way of knowing how many books there will be in the series. I currently have 6 solo books planned, and 3 co-written books planned. Each can be read as a standalone with a different couple.
  • Blackthorn Academy For Supernaturals: as this is a shared world, I have no way of knowing how many books there will be in the series. I currently have 2 solo books planned. Each can be read as a standalone with a different couple.
You can find more detailed information about specific series here:
==> https://www.authorlauragreenwood.co.uk/p/status-of-next-book-in-series.html
If the series you're looking for isn't on the list, then it is likely to already be complete.

Do you have any books with LGBTQ+ protagonists?

I do! You can check out a list of them below. I've only included books where the sexuality of the characters is explicitly mentioned. This also only refers to main characters. There are LGBTQ+ side characters in almost all of my series.

Books including Asexual Characters in romantic relationships:
This list only includes characters who are referred to as ace within their book or series.
  • Finding Answers For Confused Succubi (Obscure Academy): Amanda (Mandy) is asexual & sex averse, while Darius is asexual & sex positive
  • The Vampire Detective, co-written with Arizona Tape: William is asexual and has a conversation about it in one of the later books. While it is never said on page and only implied, both Arizona and I believe that the heroine of The Vampire Detective series (Lucy) is demisexual.
Books including women in relationships with other women:
If you are looking for more sapphic romances, I would highly recommend checking out Arizona Tape's solo books as she writes predominantly sapphic relationships in her solo books.
  • Witch's Lesson (Purple Oasis), co-written with Arizona Tape (Reese & Annabelle)
  • Shifter's Truth (Purple Oasis), co-written with Arizona Tape (Stella & Carly)
  • Mer's Journey (Purple Oasis), co-written with Arizona Tape (Ines & Susie)
  • Witch's Gift (Purple Oasis), co-written with Arizona Tape (Maddy & Elise)
  • Familiar's Conflict (Purple Oasis), co-written with Arizona Tape (Duckie & Edith)
Books including men in relationships with other men:
  • Witch's Warning (Purple Oasis), co-written with Arizona Tape (Max & Hugo)
Books including Pansexual or Bisexual Characters in m/f relationships:
This list only includes characters who are referred to as bi or pan within their book or series, or are shown with exes on page. There are other characters who I believe are bi/pan, but as it doesn't come up in the books, I haven't included them in this list.

Why are some of your books 99 cents but not others?

Books of mine which are 99 cents are at a sale price. Sometimes, I have limited-time sales on backlist titles, or I have a special pre-order price for a book one. This is to give people a chance to try a series at a cheaper price. There is no guarantee about the when or length of time a book will be 99 cents, or if/when a book will go on sale.

Can I join your ARC team?

I only run ARCs via Booksprout and on a limited basis.

Do you write all your books yourself?

Yes! If it has my name on the cover, then I did an equal share of the writing. E.g. if it’s just my name, I wrote all of it, if there’s one co-author listed, I wrote half, if there are two co-authors listed, I wrote a third...you get the picture! No AI is used to write any part of my books (or do any of the cover art or character art as far as I'm aware). I have far too many ideas and take far too much joy in writing to let anyone else near doing it for me!

How do you write & publish so much?

Being an author is my full-time job, and as I'm sure anyone with their own business will tell you, it's too easy to work too much. I write almost every day and can write up to 15,000 words a day (though not every day), and plot in advance so I know where a story is going before I start.
In short, I work hard and I love my job - that means there can be lots of books.

Do you have any pen names?

No, I only write under Laura Greenwood.

What if I don't like a series?

I completely understand that not everyone is going to like everything I write and I don't have a problem with that. If you love all of my series except one, that's fine. If you only like one of my series, that's also fine. You're also more than welcome to review in any way you choose. But if given the option, I would much rather not receive emails/comments on my own posts saying that you don't like something.

Do you go to signings and events?

I do, but mostly in the UK where I live. You can find the ones I’m going to on my website:
==> https://www.authorlauragreenwood.co.uk/p/signings-events.html

Can I order signed paperbacks/swag?

You can! Please be aware that when it comes to postage prices & times, I am in the UK and that does increase both.
==> https://books.authorlauragreenwood.co.uk/shop
I do sometimes have limited time offers such as my Christmas Boxes and limited time mystery bundles, which I'll post about on social media & in my newsletter.

I have a question that isn’t answered here, what should I do?

You can either post in my Reader Group, or fill out the contact form here!

Do you write dark/bully romance?

No, I don’t. It isn’t for me for personal and professional reasons, so you won’t find dark/bully romance in my books.

Why has your cover/title changed?

There are several reasons I’ve done this in the past, including:
  • Moving books into the same series (e.g. Forgotten Gods, Grimm Academy)
  • To make the covers more genre-appropriate so they can reach the right readers (e.g. Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency, Purple Oasis)
  • The designer asked if they could make some tweaks (e.g. The Paranormal Council, Grimalkin Academy)
  • Rebranding a planned standalone into a series (e.g. Ashryn Barker)
It’s never done without a lot of thought and consideration as I know it can be confusing for readers.
